Privacy policy

Ascension is a free, non-profit fan project that recompiles God of War: Ascension for PC. The Ascension project is responsible for the data handled on this site and on the online server. We are not affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment or Santa Monica Studio.

• Account: your in-game name, your e-mail, when it was made and your password, kept only as an Argon2 hash (the password itself is never stored).
• Sessions: a random code in the site's cookie or in the launcher; the server keeps only its hash, its kind (site or launcher) and when it expires (30 days on the site, 180 in the launcher).
• Profile: the look you pick, the pictures you upload (avatar and banner), your level and XP and the items you earned.
• From the game: the trophies the launcher sends (which trophy, when and the play time, signed by your installation), the launchers connected to the account (each one's public key) and the multiplayer profile the game itself writes, with its latest versions.
• Performance reports you choose to send (CPU, graphics card, memory, scene and fps).
• Technical data: the site's proxy logs each visit (IP address, page, browser and time); the server counts, in memory for 10 minutes, each IP's failed sign-ins; actions in the admin panel are logged with the IP of whoever made them; and the online's test server records, for development, what the game sends to it, with the source IP.

There are no ads, trackers, pixels or visitor analytics. We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone.

• To keep your account, sign-in, profile, trophies and the online working: performing the service you asked for by making the account (art. 7, V).
• To protect the accounts and the server (sign-in limits, access logs, the panel's audit) and to develop the online: legitimate interest (art. 7, IX).
• Uploaded pictures and performance reports: your consent, which you withdraw by deleting them.

Your profile is public: in-game name, avatar, banner, level, trophies, achievements, the multiplayer profile, your ranking position and the performance reports you send. Your e-mail is never shown to anyone.

The site uses a single cookie, the session's, only after you sign in (HttpOnly and Secure: scripts cannot read it and it only travels over HTTPS). The warrior's 3D model, if you open one, is kept only in your browser and never sent. The site's fonts come from Google Fonts: your browser downloads them from Google's servers, which receive your IP.

The data lives on a rented server (VPS) at Hostinger, in a database that cannot be reached from the internet. Account data stays while the account exists; sessions expire by themselves; the multiplayer profile keeps only its latest versions. When an account is deleted, everything tied to it is deleted with it; the admin panel's audit log keeps only the name of whoever made each action.

Under the LGPD (art. 18) you can, at any time, find out what data we have, get a copy, correct it, ask for your account and everything tied to it to be deleted, and withdraw consent. Ask through the contact below. You can also complain to Brazil's data protection authority (ANPD).

All the site's traffic uses HTTPS; passwords are kept only as Argon2 hashes; the database is not exposed to the internet; the admin panel needs access roles and logs every action. No system is perfect: if something leaks, we tell those affected and the ANPD.

God of War: Ascension is rated for adults (18+). Accounts are for people 18 and over only.

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it; important changes are announced on the site before they apply.
